CSVS is a system of 9 Federally Qualified, JCAHO Accredited Community Health Centers located throughout the Salinas     Valley in Monterey County, California. We provide full scope Family Practice services including low-risk obstetrics. We teach  and supervise Family Medicine residents from the  Natividad/UCSF Family Practice Residency Program. We are a multidisciplinary group of 21 clinicians, including 14 Family Practitioners.

Dental Director

The Dental Director position is responsible for the planning, organization, direction, and evaluation of the dental clinical activities of Clinica de Salud. The successful candidate will contribute their experience as a qualified professional who keeps abreast of technical and dental advances and up-to-date innovations that will be of value to our 5 dental clinics throughout the Clinica organization. Most importantly, the Dental Director will provide mentorship and play a major advisory role in CSVS’s educational programs and continuing education for dental providers, dental assistants, and other related professional personnel. This level of position will have the knowledge and ability to evaluate quality assurance, utilization review, risk management activities, as well as provide guidance regarding standards of excellence and core values regarding quality of dental care.
 

Applicants for the Dental Director position must possess exceptional ability to provide strategic planning into the future development of resource allocation processes for the organization, have a clear understanding of the development, implementation, and monitoring of grant proposals which will benefit CSVS; be able to demonstrate proven clinical and administrative expertise, help us achieve new heights in providing quality dental care to our diverse patient population; establish and maintain effective working relationship with clinical staff, funding sources, and act as a liaison to the dental community in an effort to promote harmonious and cooperative relationships with our community partners.

Community Health Advocate

The Community Health Advocate will have excellent organizational, supervisory and communication skills, be Bilingual English/Spanish, with strong oral and translation skills. Previous experience working with Latino population and/or new immigrants from Spanish speaking countries preferred but not required. Two to five years experience or background in health, extremely desired. The key functions of the position will include: Counsels and informs the patient population about the medical and dental services available to them through CSVS; assists in the scheduling of patients for services at clinics throughout the county; brings patient concerns to the attention of the administration and providers; maintains the confidentiality of patient records; assist in the coordination of CSVS participation in local community events that encourage health education services. If you are the successful candidate who can adapt to changes or unusual circumstances in a way that promotes cooperation and minimizes disruption in working environment; have the ability to establishes and maintains a cooperative relationship with patients, staff and community agencies; can demonstrates effective communications skills by conveying necessary information accurately; and have at least two years experience in community outreach activities, we are offering an exciting opportunity to learn more about working with the underserved community in this very rewarding and satisfying position.
 

Medical Assistant

Essential functions of this full time position is to assist physicians and mid level practitioners with patient care; provide information to patients so they understand and utilize clinic services; must maintain confidential information and accuracy when performing detailed chart management; will perform an assortment of technical duties to include rooming patients, monitoring patient flow, screenings, collect specimens, obtain x-rays and lab reports, send/receive patient medical records, refer to appropriate agencies for follow up care, be able to set up instruments and equipment according to medical protocol, maintain infection control, respond calmly when facing emergency situations in clinical environment.  Medical Assistants are under the supervision of the Physicians and Patient Services Manager, and will also coordinate clinic services with Clinic Nurse as appropriate.  Must have ability to learn and retain patient care procedures, possess a pleasant and professional image, be able to prioritize and complete delegated tasks, and demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with our patient population. Requirements for the successful candidate are: completion of a state endorsed Medical Assisting degree program; have current credentials for CPR, First Aid, and be able to pass a medical assisting pre-employment assessment exam.
